Winter Testimonials
“Honeymoon Bay in Winter. Forget the crowds and the searing heat. This was an affordable Fiji for our family. Magnificent sunrises, the beach to ourselves, badminton on the sand and a chance to do some Abel Tasman walks without having to book and minus the crowds. To be honest, I would prefer September for its the peace and beauty. A pleasant drive for a day out in Nelson to see the galleries and shops.”
Stayed 5 days, Sept 02 - Watson Family of Christchurch

“Honeymoon bay was a highlight of our NZ visit. The location is superb. The view is brilliant. It was so wonderful that we extended our stay in Honeymoon Bay. Thank you very much for an unforgettable experience.”
Stayed 6 weeks, Nov 2002 - Tenia + Hythum Kiswani of Los Angeles, USA

"A great place to relax & enjoy the peace & tranquility away from the maddening crowd of everyday life. If peace & solitude is a high priority it is a wonderful place to stay especially during the off season as there is virtually nobody there to invade your space. The scenery provides a magnificent setting for a very warm, comfortable place to stay. We will return to have our batteries recharged another time."
Stayed 5 days, May 2003 - Russell + Rosalie Mathew of Picton

"Thank you for a fabulous, relaxing holiday. For early June the weather was warm, the sea calm and the beach awesome. With the holiday home catching all the sun, and with spectacular views, you could not wish for anything better. Hope we can return some day."
Stayed 6 days, June 2003 - Don & Kath, Central Otago

Our stay at Honeymoon Bay in early May this year, was memorable ! Quiet and private, we felt a million miles from our busy work schedules. The weather was perfect ! Crisp, cool mornings and evenings but glorious sunshine in between. No wind and calm conditions meant we could take the sea kayak out and explore neighbouring bays to our heart's content. Great bird life and basking seals...we had a great time. The unit's panoramic views of the Tasman are breath-taking ! Spectacular sun risers and best of all, the constant sound of waves breaking gently on the shore.....just heavenly ! Thanks for a wonderful stay........we WILL be back!

Comments and Attractions:
Honeymoon Bay is the perfect gateway to the stunning Abel Tasman National Park -- wonderful for walking, camping, kayaking and recreating year round.  Honeymoon Bay is perfect for young families and those seeking a beautiful, secluded refuge.  10 short steps to an amazing golden sands beach, surrounded by native bush on the adjacent lawn. Five minutes walk to the Kaiteri Beach store,  20 minutes drive to the town of Motueka, and only 1 hour to Nelson City.  Honeymoon Bay is a perfect refuge at any time of the year.  During Autumn, Winter and Spring, the colours of the sea and sky are absolutely beautiful. The light has a special clarity and stillness.

Honeymoon Bay is also an ideal base for activities in the wider Nelson area, including Golden Bay.  The opportunities are wonderful -- golf, horse trekking, wine trails, trout fishing, tennis, heath spas and massage, snow skiing at Rainbow, hiking in the Cobb Valley, exploring Farewell Spit, taking in a pint and some excellent music at the Mussel Inn, marvelling at Pupu Springs, and drifting aimlessly through the multitude of art and craft galleries around the Nelson Province. Nelson is indeed a Mecca for arts, fine food and wine, and exceptionally beautiful landscapes.  You may be surprised how pleasant it is in the off-peak seasons."
