Description of Home: Sited on the ridge in popular Richmond Heights above
Two Mile Bay this is a suburban home on a fully fenced section with tended gardens. It is
a well-maintained family style home facing the west with broad views of Lake Taupo and the
mountains to the south. A large deck and conservatory means the view can be enjoyed in all
weathers. There are four bedrooms; two queen, one double beds and two singles. There is
also a double fold down sofa in the conservatory. All beds have pillows, covered duvets
and electric blankets. The bathroom has a bath and a new shower. Separate loo. The kitchen
is modern with a dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer and all the usual appliances and
pots, dishware, glasses etc.
The cosy lounge has a log fire, and dry wood (when available) is provided in the
winter. Two night store heaters also ensure the house is warm in winter and there are
cooling fans for summer. It has the usual TV, video, stereo equipment, plus children's
games, along with books, tapes, CDs and videos. A washing machine and drier are
available. The home is relatively modern and fully carpeted.
The house is suitable for school holiday family groups, ski holidays, and groups
participating in Taupo events, such as the round the lake cycling and and running.

Availability: All year. Already booked for Waitangi Day and the Ironman in March 2009.
Duration/Tariff: NZ$185 over Xmas and the summer holiday and during other
major holidays (e.g. Easter, Labour Weekend). The off peak rate is NZ$150 per night (10%
discount for four or more days in school holidays outside pubic holiday periods - no other
discounts are offered). There is a standard booking fee of $35 per booking, plus if guests
do not want to clean prior to leaving, a further $45 charge will cover a commercial
cleaner. Where numbers of guests exceed 8, there is a further $15 per night per extra
person charge.
Also Available: Swimming pool.
Conditions/Restrictions: Payment is required in full prior to letting,
with a ten percent deposit required for forward bookings. Guests must clean the house and
leave it in the same condition as they found it. Cleaning and laundry facilities and
equipment are provided. All rubbish, including bottles, must be taken away prior to guests
leaving.
Limitations: You do need to bring all linen, including tea towels, bath
mats and pillow-slips. You also need all your own food, including basics such as flour,
sugar, coffee, toilet paper, soap, washing machine detergent and so on.

Description of People: We are a middle aged 'empty nest' middle class
couple who have a holiday home in the central North Island so we can spend time with our
grown up children and grandchildren in an area where boating, walking, skiing and a wide
variety of holiday attractions are available. Taupo is a great holiday place, and is
conveniently situated half way between Wellington and Auckland.
Occupations/Interests: Strategic communications consultant and
silversmith turned builder.
Comments / Attractions: The house is only a block away from the Two Mile
Bay boat launching ramp, it has wide views of the Lake and it is only minutes away from
the town centre.
